Rob Edwards and O'Neil Among Wolves Managerial Contenders

Edwards along with Gary O'Neil are two of the early candidates under consideration to succeed Vitor Pereira as head coach of Wolves.

The previous coach was sacked on Sunday after the squad's ten-game without a victory beginning to the top-flight campaign.

And Edwards and O'Neil - both of who have previous links to the team - are part of the options to be considered by the club leadership.

Edwards is currently at Middlesbrough, which would pose a possible hurdle to his appointment at Wolves' stadium.

However the former Luton head coach - who played over a century of appearances for Wolves during his time as a player - is said to be a strong contender for the position.

The 42-year-old is said to have support from the club directors as they start the process of hiring a new head coach.

O'Neil is additionally emerging as a unexpected contender, although he would be a surprising choice given he was released by the club in December last year.

The former West Ham United player is out of work which means Wolves would not need to pay any compensation.
