A woman accused with pursuing Kate McCann allegedly left her a phone message which questioned: "what if I am Madeleine?"
The defendant, twenty-four, who witnesses stated has persistently asserted she was the missing Madeleine McCann, and Karen Spragg are standing trial accused with stalking Kate and Gerry McCann between June 2022 and February the current year.
On Monday, the court was told call records and evidence recovered from phones recorded Ms Wandelt persistently asking Madeleine's mother for a genetic test throughout the past two years.
Madeleine's disappearance in 2007 - as a three-year-old during a family holiday in Portugal - is considered the most widely reported investigations and is still unresolved.
One phone message, played in court, captured Ms Wandelt saying: "I understand I'm heavy and unattractive like Madeleine had been, but I believe what I know."
While a separate message of Ms Wandelt's one-way conversations with Mrs McCann's recording expressed: "What if there is a slight possibility that I'm her? What happens next? Is that not crucial for you?"
"I don't want money, I possess a living here in Poland, I only wish to discover," the message continued.
The jury was told that through emails, mobile messages and phone calls, Ms Wandelt requested a biological test, sent youth pictures to her phone in a bid to show a likeness to Mrs McCann's missing daughter, and asserted to have "memories" from a youth with the McCanns.
The investigator, an investigator with law enforcement who gathered the information, informed the court there "didn't appear to be any replies" from Mrs McCann.
Ms Wandelt additionally reached out to acquaintances of the McCanns, based on the phone records.
On that date, Gerry McCann picked up a phone call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, saying she had "the wrong phone."
That day Ms Wandelt recorded a message on Mrs McCann's voicemail saying "I won't give up and I intend to demonstrate my claim."
The court heard Mrs Spragg established a connection via internet with Ms Wandelt prior to joining her on a appearance to the McCanns' home in the county in that winter.
Communication data revealed Mrs Spragg had communicated using communication app to Mrs McCann to state the press had depicted Ms Wandelt as "mentally unstable" but that she ought to be considered genuine in the months preceding the trip to that location, Leicestershire, in December 2024.
